About RVR

RVR (short for River Valley Ranch) began with a vision to see students take some time out of their typical routines to rest, reflect and refuel their journey with God. For the past 8 years, this weekend retreat has become an incredible time of memory making, life-changing, encounters with others and with God for many students.

Using the relaxed atmosphere of the ranch, and an equally relaxed schedule that builds in time for rest and refueling, RVR is focused on helping students find their way and see a bit more clearly.

From the moment the students arrive on campus, the staff are working to bring both them and their leaders into a place of acknowledged retreat, where the schedules, problems, and pressures of daily life aren't the priority. We use General Session teaching times to direct our focus to God while being challenged in the Scriptures. Small Group Breakouts are the true relational times where students can get real in an intimate setting with several peers and one of their own leaders. This time helps them connect and dig deeper into their journey to show them how the principles being taught apply right where they're at.

Planned prayer times accompanied by an intimate encounter in the "prayer room" combine to provide an atmosphere conducive to reconnecting with God, without normal distraction. Activities and fellowship time also provide the relational and emotional food for the soul.

Leaders are encouraged to participate in the retreat as well, using the session and small group time to dive deep into their students lives. Prayer and rest are also incredibly beneficial to someone who's been busy in the trenches.

This retreat is what you make it. If you come with a desire to reconnect with God, be encouraged in your journey, and search for those areas of struggle and seek healing, help and hope - then you will find what you're looking for.

Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7
